Discovering Chinese Opera: Gongs and Drums 戲曲大探索：鑼鼓響

Participants will watch the Dress Rehearsal of an Academy Chinese Opera production. It will present four classical Cantonese opera excerpts—“Bestows the Gift of a Sword at Baihua Pavilion” from Phoenix Mountain, “Scramble for Umbrella” from The Moon Pavilion, “Autumn River” from The Story of Jade Hairpin and Wu Song in the Inn. The renowned Cantonese and Peking opera master, Mr Lau Shun, will be the guest director of two of the excerpts.

觀眾將欣賞由戲曲學院製作《鑼鼓響》的舞台總綵排。戲曲學院本學期的重點演出《鑼鼓響》將於演藝學院廖湯慧靄戲劇院舉行，精選四齣經典折子戲帶領觀眾細味戲曲之美，同時分享音樂和表演專修學生共同努力的學習成果。折子戲劇目包括《鳳凰山》之 ＜百花亭贈劍＞、《拜月記》 之＜搶傘＞、《玉簪記》之＜秋江＞及《武松打店》。其中《玉簪記》之＜秋江＞及《武松打店》的演出更獲粵劇及京劇名家劉洵先生擔任客席導演。
